What this tool is for
Exact row deduplication removes repeated records, but it does not necessarily detect duplicate real-world entities. Two invoices can share a customer name and amount while still being legitimate separate transactions.
How to use it
- Review whether the CSV contains a header row and which fields define an exact duplicate.
- Run duplicate removal and note how many rows remain.
- Inspect repeated-looking records and save a new export rather than overwriting source data.
Example workflow
If the same exported line appears twice byte-for-byte, exact-row cleanup is appropriate. Two different orders for the same customer should usually stay separate.
Important limitations
- Case, spacing and punctuation differences can prevent exact duplicate detection.
- Do not deduplicate financial or administrative records without checking the intended uniqueness rule.
