What this tool is for
CSV conversion is about preserving data semantics while changing a representation. Commas, tabs, semicolons and JSON arrays can all describe tabular records, but nested JSON is not always a rectangular table.
How to use it
- Import CSV, TSV or JSON and inspect the parsed row and header preview.
- Choose the target format or delimiter and review options for quoting and headers.
- Export and validate records with commas, quotes, blank fields and Unicode characters.
Example workflow
A report with a 'city, state' field must quote that field in comma-delimited output to avoid shifting the following columns.
Important limitations
- Flattening deeply nested JSON can discard relationships between objects.
- Spreadsheet software may reinterpret account numbers, postal codes and dates.
