What this tool is for
Different applications expect different delimiters. Comma-separated, tab-separated, semicolon-separated and pipe-separated outputs can represent the same table if quoting and escaping are handled correctly.
How to use it
- Import the file and verify that the detected input delimiter yields the expected columns.
- Choose a target delimiter supported by the receiving system.
- Inspect rows containing the chosen delimiter, quotation marks or multiline text after export.
Example workflow
A European spreadsheet locale may prefer semicolon separators because commas are used in decimal values.
Important limitations
- Replacing commas with semicolons as plain text can corrupt quoted data; use structured parsing.
- The delimiter choice does not automatically convert decimal notation or character encoding.
