What this tool is for
WAV commonly stores uncompressed PCM samples and is useful for workflows that expect lossless audio containers. Converting a lossy MP3 to WAV may greatly increase file size, but cannot recreate frequencies already discarded during MP3 encoding.
How to use it
- Choose the MP3 source and start the browser conversion.
- Export the WAV and compare its duration with the original.
- Open the WAV in the target editor to verify channel count and playback.
Example workflow
A transcription application that prefers WAV may accept a converted MP3 recording, even though the original recording quality stays the same.
Important limitations
- Larger WAV files do not mean an MP3 recording gained fidelity.
- Sample rate and channel configuration may change depending on the converter defaults.
