What this tool is for
MP4 is a container, not a guarantee of a specific video codec. A compressed MP4 may differ in codec, resolution and audio settings from its source. Choose a target that the destination application can play.
How to use it
- Open the MP4 file and note its duration and initial size.
- Apply the tool's compression controls, using a moderate quality reduction as a first test.
- Inspect audio synchronization, small text and motion in the exported clip.
Example workflow
If a webcam recording is too large for an assignment portal, test a short sample before processing the entire lecture.
Important limitations
- Exporting an MP4 does not guarantee compatibility with every older device.
- Compressing an already heavily compressed file may give little size reduction.
